Site-mixed concrete
What is site-mixed concrete?
Concrete made at your job instead of at a plant. A site-mixed truck, also called a volumetric mixer, carries sand, stone, cement and water in separate bins and mixes them as the concrete comes down the chute. See site-mixed concrete delivery.
How is it different from a drum truck?
A drum truck is loaded at the plant, and the concrete starts setting once the water goes in. It arrives as one fixed load. A site-mixed truck makes the concrete on the spot, so it's fresh at the forms, and the amount isn't decided until you're pouring. Nothing extra gets mixed, so there's no leftover load to deal with at the end.
Do you do short loads and big pours?
Both. A few footers or a sidewalk section is a short load, and the truck makes only what it takes. For slabs and commercial pours, a big job can take more than one truck. Tell us the size and we'll talk through it.
What if I measured wrong?
It happens. Because the mixing happens at the job, the truck can keep going if the forms take more than you figured, as long as it has material on board, or stop early if they take less.
Ordering
How much concrete do I need?
Multiply length by width in feet, then by the thickness in inches, and divide by 324. That gives you cubic yards. A 10 by 10 foot slab at 4 inches is about 1.2 yards. Send us the measurements and we'll check the math with you.
Do you work with contractors?
Yes. Masons, driveway and flatwork contractors and builders order from us for their jobs. See concrete for contractors and builders.
Can I pick up materials at the yard?
Some customers do, with their own trailer. Call first so someone's there with the loader. See material pickup at the yard.
Quotes and scheduling
What areas do you deliver to?
Brevard County, out of our yard in Melbourne: West Melbourne, Palm Bay, Suntree, Viera, Rockledge, Cocoa and Merritt Island. If your job is somewhere else, call and ask. The service areas page has more.
How do I get a quote?
Call (321) 751-6666 to schedule a pour, or request a quote online any time and we'll call you back. Have the address, what you're pouring and the rough size ready.
What if the weather turns on pour day?
Call us. Florida storms can build fast, and rain on fresh concrete is nobody's friend. We'll talk it over and decide together whether to keep the date or move it.
